Personality & Character[]

Yoshii is an illustrator with strong ambitions of becoming a successful manga artist. While struggling to become an established illustrator, she worked as a housekeeper for Souichi Kaga and the two struck a friendship. However, Yoshii was an immature young adult with poor sense of priority and responsibility. When she became pregnant with Rin, she was reluctant to carry her to full term because of her artistic ambitions. Souichi volunteered to help foster Rin while Yoshii can continue her ambitions. She would continue to work and maintained Souichi's home; she never once form a bond with Rin and kept a distance from her. After Souichi's death, she never went back for Rin and continued with her life. Feeling guilty what she did to Rin, Yoshii started a savings account as a supportive gesture for Rin if they ever meet again. Around the same time Rin was adopted, Yoshii would find love with her chief artist assistant. The two would be together for the next decade and decided to get married after she got pregnant again (another girl). When she finally met Rin as a 16 year old teen, Yoshii expressed regret for prioritizing her career over motherhood. However, now that Yoshii has become an established artist, she felt ready to settle down and start a family. Overall, Yoshii was an ambitious dreamer with a poor sense of priority as a mother.

History[]

Little is known about Masako's past other than she was born in April 2nd.

Manga Artists Dreams & Pregnancy[]

Masako was a young budding artist with ambitions to become an established manga artists. However, her dreams didn't pay well and she worked for Souichi Kaga as a housekeeper for several years to supplement her income. The following events are unclear, but Masako slept with a man and got pregnant. It was never clear why the man wasn't in the picture, either the man didn't want any responsibility for the pregnancy or Masako never sought the father for help. Between facing her pregnancy alone and chasing her dreams, she thought about giving up the baby. Souichi intervened and offered to adopt her daughter as his own. For the next 6 years, Souichi would be a surrogate father to Rin and taken his surname, Rin Kaga. Even though Masako has been there the whole time as the housekeeper, she never formed a bond with Rin. Because of that, Rin never engaged Masako as a parent and memories of Masako faded after Souichi's death.

Souichi's Death & New Love[]

After Souichi died, Masako never went to search for Rin. It's unclear did she leave prior to Souichi's death or after, but she left Rin to Souichi's family to look after her. Because Souichi's family thought Rin was a byproduct of an affair with the housekeeper, Rin was considered a shameful existence and nobody wanted to look after her. The family talked about sending her to an orphanage until Daikichi intervened and volunteered to be her guardian. While Daikichi struggled in being a parent to Rin, Masako started a new chapter in her life.

Masako's artistry has reached to the level that she can stand on her own without needing doing side jobs. She met her chief artist assistant and the two fell in love and would end up working together for the next 10 years. In between that time,

Masako may appear very cold but she cares deeply for Rin. She saved up money for her little by little.

After 10 years, with Rin's curiosity what a mother really is, she met up with her. She was already pregnant at that time and was a month away from delivery.
